Sports in October November 2014

1. Dilip Vengsarkar awarded C.K.Nayudu Lifetime achievement award for the year 2014. BCCI presents C.K Nayudu award annually.

2. Saina Nehwal wins  China Open women singles, defeating Akane Yamaguchi of Japan. In the same tournament Kidambi Srikanth of India won Mens title, he is the first Indian shutler to achieve the feat .

3. Rohit Sharma hits highest runs in ODI i.e; 264 of 173balls  against Sri Lanka in legendary Eden Gardens Stadium. Earlier the record of highest runs in ODI was in the name of Virendra Sehwag i.e; 219*runs .


4. World No. 1 Badminton player  Lee Chong Wei, of Malaysia was provisionally suspended for Anti-doping regulation violation.

5. Virat Kohli became fastest man to score 6000 runs in ODI.

6. World Chess Championship begins in Sochi, Russia.

7.  ICC Test team and ICC ODI team of the year announced
